COLLECTED PASSAGE

COLLEYVILLE, TEXAS

The framing was already up, but the home hadn’t yet found its direction.

A dear friend introduced us when the client realized she needed a designer on her side. She could sense that the rooms weren’t feeling as she had imagined, and the solutions being offered weren’t getting her closer. She had a clear vision for a soft contemporary home; our work was to give that vision shape.

We reconsidered how the spaces connected, substantially reworking the kitchen and bathroom layouts and designing a modern fireplace. Those changes gave the home a stronger foundation for the things that made it hers: art, furnishings, and objects gathered through travels around the world.

Bringing those collections together was a particular pleasure. Each room offered a different opportunity to draw from her experiences, mixing new pieces with things she already loved. For the dining room, we designed a custom chandelier that the manufacturer later kept in its collection and sold for years.

She was a joy to work with, and I spent a week on site for the installation, placing furnishings, hanging art, and bringing the rooms together. After all the decisions along the way, this was the moment her collections and the home finally met.

“Jen listened to me. She advocated for me with our builder, and took my vision to a high level of sophisticated, artistic design.”
